Im Rahmen des neu lancierten Basel Film Music Festivals wird der zweifache Oscar-Gewinner Alexandre Desplat für ein ungezwungenes, persönliches Gespräch zur Verfügung stehen, in welchem Festivalgründer Alex Strohm und Filmmusikkomponist Michael Künstle (Jagdzeit, Neumatt) dem Starkomponisten auf den Zahn fühlen werden. Gesprächsstoff gibt es genügend, denn Desplat zählt mit seinen 11 Oscar-, 12 Golden Globe- sowie 11 Grammy-Nominationen zu den gefragtesten Filmmusikkomponisten der Gegenwart. Auf sein Konto geht die Musik zu Filmen wie Grand Budapest Hotel, Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla und The French Dispatch, um nur einige zu nennen.

As part of the launch of the newly founded Basel Film Music Festival, the two-time Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat will be available for a relaxed, personal talk in which festival-founder Alex Strohm will discuss various stations of Desplat’s journey. Strohm will be joined by Swiss filmmusic composer Michael Künstle (“Jagdzeit”, “Neumatt”). And there will be enough to talk about, with Desplat’s work having led to 11 Oscar-, 12 Golden Globe and 11 Grammy-nominations. To his most well-known work counts the music for films such as Grand Budapest Hotel, Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla and The French Dispatch, to name only a few.
